Day by day
Day 1: Welcome to Paris, the City of Light
Paris
Sights: Arrival in Paris
Your Europe holiday begins as you land at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. A friendly face meets you in the arrival hall, and the coach carries you toward the city, past winter fields and into the outskirts of the French capital.
Paris is a city of fashion, world-famous museums, grand boulevards and old cabaret halls. Even from the road, you begin to sense it: the cream stone buildings, the iron balconies, the cafes glowing against the early dark of December.
Your tour manager helps you check in at the hotel, so you can settle in without a worry. The rest of the day is yours to rest after the flight. In the evening the group gathers for its first dinner together, a warm Indian meal and a chance to meet the people you will share the next nine days with.
Hotel: B&B / Millennium CDG or similar
Meals: Dinner
Day 2: Paris city tour, Eiffel Tower and Versailles
Paris, Versailles, Paris
Sights: Place Vendome, Opera Garnier, Musee d'Orsay, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides, Eiffel Tower 3rd level, Palace of Versailles, Seine River cruise
After breakfast you set out with a local guide for a tour of Paris. The coach rolls past Place Vendome, the Opera Garnier and the Musee d'Orsay, then across Place de la Concorde and up the Champs-Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. You cross the gilded Alexander III Bridge and pass the golden dome of Les Invalides.
Next you ride up to the 3rd level of the Eiffel Tower, the very top, where all of Paris spreads out below in every direction. Then you head about 12 miles west to the Palace of Versailles for a guided tour of the royal home of French kings, one of the most visited places on earth.
Later you glide along the Seine River by boat, under bridge after bridge, past Notre-Dame and the Orsay Museum. After dark, the Paris by night tour shows you the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysees in their evening glow. Dinner follows, then back to your hotel.
Hotel: B&B / Millennium CDG or similar
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 3: A full day at Disneyland Paris
Paris
Sights: Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park
Today is all about fun. After breakfast the coach takes you east of the city to Disneyland Paris, with a packed lunch in hand so you can make the most of every hour in the park.
You choose how to spend the day. Disneyland Park brings fairy tales to life across five themed lands, with the pink towers of Sleeping Beauty Castle at its heart, classic rides, colorful shows and parades with much-loved Disney characters. Or pick Walt Disney Studios Park, where stunt shows and real film sets show you how movie magic is made. In December the park is dressed for the holidays, a lovely time for families to be there together.
As the light fades, you gather with the group for the ride back to Paris. Dinner waits for you, then a well-earned rest at your hotel before the journey north tomorrow.
Hotel: B&B / Millennium CDG or similar
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 4: Brussels, Grand Place and Mini Europe
Brussels, Netherlands
Sights: Grand Place, Brussels Town Hall, Manneken Pis, Mini Europe
After breakfast you check out and leave Paris behind. The coach heads north across the French countryside and into Belgium, toward Brussels, the capital of the country and home of the European Union.
Your first stop is the Grand Place, often called one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Ornate guild houses with gold trim line every side, and the Gothic Town Hall rises above them with its slender spire. A short walk away stands the Manneken Pis, the small bronze statue that has become the city's most loved symbol. Then you visit Mini Europe, a park where more than 350 of the continent's great monuments are built in fine miniature detail.
In the afternoon you cross into the Netherlands. You check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner with the group, and settle in for a quiet Dutch evening.
Hotel: Amrath / Van der Valk or similar
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 5: Dutch windmill village and Amsterdam canals
Amsterdam, Frankfurt area
Sights: Traditional Dutch windmill village, Amsterdam canal cruise
After breakfast you check out and drive through the flat Dutch countryside, crossed by canals and dikes, to a traditional village near Amsterdam.
Here the old Netherlands comes to life. Wooden windmills turn against the winter sky, green wooden houses line the water, and small workshops keep the crafts of 18th century Dutch life going. Next you continue into Amsterdam and step aboard a glass-topped canal boat. You glide past tall, narrow merchant houses and under some of the city's many bridges, with the history of this old trading city all around you.
In the afternoon you board the coach again for the long drive into Germany, watching the landscape change as you go. You reach your hotel in the Frankfurt area in the evening, check in, and share dinner with the group.
Hotel: Intercity / Elaya or similar
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 6: Heidelberg, Black Forest and the Rhine Falls
Heidelberg, Black Forest, Schaffhausen, Central Switzerland
Sights: Heidelberg Altstadt, Church of the Holy Spirit, Black Forest, cuckoo clock demonstration, Rhine Falls boat ride
After breakfast you check out and drive to Heidelberg. The Altstadt, the old town, spreads around the Market Square and along the Neckar River, just below the red stone ruins of Heidelberg Castle. You stroll its narrow cobblestone streets and see the Church of the Holy Spirit, the landmark of the old town.
Next you head into the heart of the Black Forest, a land of dark evergreen woods and small villages with steep roofs. Here you watch a demonstration of how the famous cuckoo clocks are made, a craft this region has known for centuries. Later you cross into Switzerland and reach the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe, and take a boat ride up close to its roaring white water.
The drive continues into Central Switzerland, where you check in at your hotel for the next three nights. Dinner is served, and the Alps are close now.
Hotel: La Maison / Radisson or similar
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 7: Interlaken and Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe
Interlaken, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch, Central Switzerland
Sights: Interlaken, Grindelwald Terminal, Eiger Express, Jungfraujoch, Ice Palace, Sphinx observation deck, Aletsch Glacier
After breakfast you drive to Interlaken, a pretty Swiss town set between two lakes, with snowy peaks rising on every side. It is the gateway to some of the finest alpine journeys in the world.
From the Grindelwald Terminal, the modern Eiger Express gondola lifts you to Eigergletscher station in about 15 minutes. There you change to a cogwheel train that climbs through the mountain to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe at 11,333 feet. Up here, in a world of ice and snow, you walk through the Ice Palace with its carved ice sculptures, then rise to the Sphinx observation deck. Below you stretches the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps.
This is the crowning day of the tour, and one you will remember long after you are home. In the late afternoon you head back down to your hotel in Central Switzerland for dinner and a warm evening indoors.

Engelberg, Lucerne, Zurich, Central Switzerland
Sights: Mt. Titlis, Rotair revolving cable car, Titlis Cliff Walk, Lion Monument, Kapellbrucke, Lindt Home of Chocolate
After breakfast you drive to Engelberg for a trip to the summit of Mt. Titlis. A series of cable cars carries you up, the last one the Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car, turning slowly so you see the whole mountain on the way up to 3,020 meters.
At the top a 360 degree view opens out over snowy peaks, deep crevasses and wide white snowfields. You walk the Titlis Cliff Walk, the highest suspension bridge in Europe, hanging along the cliff face. Then you come down to Lucerne for a short orientation tour. You see the Lion Monument carved into the rock and the old covered wooden bridge, the Kapellbrucke, over the river.
In the afternoon you visit Lindt Home of Chocolate near Zurich and learn how Swiss chocolate is made. Back at your hotel, the last dinner together is a time to share the best moments of the trip.
