Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu – Welcome to the Spiritual Journey

Arrive in Kathmandu, the gateway to the sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Upon arrival, our Akshar Travels team will assist with airport transfer and hotel check-in. Relax and unwind after your journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and group briefing about the yatra with essential guidance, packing checks, and spiritual preparation for the upcoming pilgrimage.

Day 2: Kathmandu Temple Darshan & Yatra Preparation
Kathmandu
After breakfast, proceed for divine darshan covering Pashupatinath Temple, Jal Narayan, and Guheshwari Temple. This spiritually energizing day prepares pilgrims mentally and spiritually for the Kailash Yatra. After lunch, complete document checks, visa processing formalities, baggage briefing, and high-altitude safety instructions.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Rasuwagadi Border Drive
Kathmandu, Timure, Rasuwagadi
After breakfast, begin the scenic Himalayan drive from Kathmandu to Timure / Rasuwagadi border. This beautiful route offers river valleys, mountain roads, and lush landscapes. Reach the border region by evening and rest before immigration procedures the next day.

Day 4: Border Crossing & Drive to Kerung
Rasuwagadi, Kerung
After breakfast, walk to the border for Nepal and China immigration formalities. Once clearance is complete, continue the drive to Kerung, a beautiful Tibetan town surrounded by snow-capped peaks. This stop helps with altitude acclimatization.

Day 5: Kerung to Saga – Himalayan Grand Views
Kerung, Saga
Drive through the mesmerizing Tibetan plateau toward Saga, crossing dramatic mountain passes with majestic views of Mt. Shishapangma and Gauri Shankar. A stunning day filled with breathtaking landscapes and spiritual excitement.

Day 6: First Darshan of Lake Mansarovar & Mt. Kailash
Saga, Lake Mansarovar
One of the most emotional days of the journey. Drive toward the sacred Lake Mansarovar, where pilgrims receive the first divine glimpse of Mt. Kailash from Horchu Pass. Arrive at Chhu Gompa for overnight stay near the holy lake.

Day 7: Holy Puja at Mansarovar & Drive to Darchen
Lake Mansarovar, Darchen
Perform holy snan, puja, havan, meditation, and spiritual rituals at Lake Mansarovar. Devotional bhajans and satsang with Kirtidan Gadhvi make this day unforgettable. Later drive to Darchen, the base camp for Kailash Parikrama.

Day 8: Begin Kailash Parikrama – Trek to Diraphuk
Darchen, Diraphuk
Today marks the beginning of the sacred Kailash Parikrama. Drive to Tarboche and start the trek toward Diraphuk, enjoying extraordinary close-up views of the north face of Mt. Kailash.

Day 9: Dolma La Pass Trek to Zuthulphuk
Diraphuk, Dolma La, Zuthulphuk
The most spiritually powerful and physically challenging day. Cross the sacred Dolma La Pass, visit Gaurikund, and continue trek toward Zuthulphuk. This is considered the soul-cleansing segment of the yatra.

Day 10: Complete Parikrama & Return to Saga
Zuthulphuk, Darchen, Saga
Complete the final stretch of the parikrama trek and board the vehicle waiting at the endpoint. Drive back via Darchen and continue to Saga for overnight stay.

Day 11: Saga to Kerung Return Journey
Saga, Kerung
After breakfast, begin the return drive through the Tibetan plateau back to Kerung, enjoying one last look at the majestic Himalayas.

Day 12: Kerung to Kathmandu
Kerung, Kathmandu
Cross the border back into Nepal and drive to Kathmandu. On arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy a relaxing farewell dinner with the group.

Need to know
- Meals on arrival and departure days depend on flight times. If your flight lands early in the morning or leaves late in the evening, Akshar Travels will arrange the meals for that day.
- If a sight is closed on the day it is scheduled, we will replace it with a comparable sight on the same tour.
- Hotel check-in is usually 3:00 pm and check-out is usually 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may carry a charge.
