OCI Card Consulting for Atlanta and All of Georgia
Georgia is home to a large and growing Indian-origin community, especially across metro Atlanta, Decatur, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Duluth, Cumming, Marietta, and surrounding suburbs. For families of Indian origin living in Georgia, the OCI card is an important long-term document that provides visa-free travel to India and the ability to live, work, and study there without applying for a visa each time.
OCI applications from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee fall under the Consulate General of India in Atlanta. That local consular coverage makes Atlanta especially important for Georgia applicants, and it also gives Akshar Travels a stronger local presence because we have an office at 1766 Lawrenceville Hwy, Suite C, Decatur, GA 30033. Clients in metro Atlanta can visit us for document review, application guidance, and consultation. Clients elsewhere in Georgia can complete the same process virtually, by phone, email and WhatsApp.
We support new OCI applications, OCI updates and re-issues after a new passport, and OCI applications for spouses and children. PIO to OCI conversion ended on December 31, 2025. If you still hold an old PIO card, you now apply for OCI as a new application, and we guide you through it. Whether you live in Atlanta, Decatur, Augusta, Savannah, Macon, Columbus, or elsewhere in Georgia, our process is structured to keep the application accurate, complete, and on schedule. The Atlanta office gives local applicants an in-person option while keeping the same statewide support system for the rest of Georgia.
How Atlanta and All of Georgia Clients Work With Us
Call or Email Us
Tell us what you need and where you are located. We confirm your consulate jurisdiction and the exact documents required.
We Send Your Checklist
We send a complete, case-specific document checklist. You gather your documents following our guide.
Share Your Documents Virtually
Send photos or scans of your documents by email or WhatsApp. We check every page, complete the forms and prepare your packet. If the consulate needs originals, we tell you exactly what to send and how to pack them.
We Submit and Track
We review everything, complete your application, submit to the correct consulate, and track status until your documents are returned to you.
Passport renewal from Georgia
Indian passport renewal runs through the same consulate as your OCI case, by way of the VFS Global centre that serves Georgia. We prepare the Passport Seva form, check the photos and the proofs of address and status, and tell you exactly what goes in the packet and where it goes.
US passport renewal is a federal process, the same from every state: a DS-82 by mail when your last passport was issued within the past fifteen years and after you turned sixteen, otherwise a DS-11 in person at an acceptance facility. We check the form and the photo before anything goes out, and we tell you which processing option fits your travel date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Indian consulate handles OCI applications from Georgia?
The Consulate General of India in Atlanta handles OCI applications for Georgia residents. Applications from Atlanta, Decatur, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Columbus, and the rest of Georgia are submitted through that jurisdiction. Akshar Travels coordinates this process for Georgia clients from start to finish.
Can I visit your Atlanta office for OCI application help?
Yes. Georgia clients can visit our Atlanta office at 1766 Lawrenceville Hwy, Suite C, Decatur, GA 30033 for OCI application guidance, document review, and consultation. If you are outside metro Atlanta, we also handle the process virtually, by phone, email and WhatsApp.
How long does OCI processing take from Georgia?
Processing times can vary based on consular workload, holidays, and the type of OCI application being filed. We review your case up front, submit it correctly, and track progress throughout so you know what stage your Georgia application is in.
Who is eligible for an OCI card in Georgia?
Any Indian-born person who has become a US citizen is eligible. Children and grandchildren of someone who was an Indian citizen can also apply. Spouses of Indian citizens or OCI holders are eligible if the marriage has lasted at least two years. We confirm your eligibility on the first call, before you gather any documents, whether you visit our Atlanta office or work with us remotely.
Do I need to renew my OCI card when I renew my US passport?
Not always. If your OCI card was issued before age 20, you need a new OCI card once, the first time you get a new passport after turning 20. In most other cases, a new passport means updating your passport details on the OCI portal instead. Rules do change, so we check your case first. We handle re-issues and updates for Georgia clients and coordinate the timing with your passport renewal.
What if my OCI application is delayed or sent back for correction?
Most OCI setbacks come from photo specification errors, name mismatches across documents, or missing supporting papers. Our pre-submission review is designed to catch these issues before filing. If your application is delayed, returned, or needs correction, we help you understand the reason and prepare the next step properly.
